Description

Stop Wipes and Non-Flushables from Clogging Pipes

Flushing of inappropriate items is a widespread problem in all facilities, resulting in clogs, burst pipes, flooding, and a drain on resources and revenue. Wipes, napkins, rags, paper towels, diapers, feminine products, and more have been flushed down toilets. Just because it leaves the toilet bowl, doesn’t mean it’s flushable. These products don’t disperse in water like toilet paper does. Instead, they accumulate over time in pipes and sewers causing catastrophic problems in the plumbing system or further down the waste stream in municipal water treatment facilities.

The Traptex® Plumbing Protection System helps prevent non-flushable items from entering the pipes. This results in fewer maintenance calls for clogs, equipment failures, and plumbing disasters.  The National Association of Clean Water Agencies (NACWA) estimates "flushable" wipes cost public water utilities over $441 million a year". This expense gets passed onto taxpayers, businesses, and anyone who pay for sewer and water! This doesn't even count all the calls made to the plumber.

How does the Traptex® Toilet Guard work?

  • Each custom-sized, stainless steel Traptex® Toilet Guard features small, laser-cut hooks to catch cloths, wipes, and other non-flushable objects before they enter the pipes.   The hooks catch these objects, which then remain in the toilet bowl.
  • The wipes and objects that remain in the toilet bowl can be retrieved and discarded with the Traptex® Wipe Retriever.  Click here to purchase.
  • The laser-cut hooks cut through toilet paper and solid waste, so they can easily pass through.  Note, this product is intended for commercial toilets.  Residential toilets may not have the high flushing capacity needed
  • With Traptex®, the staff can address and prevent a toilet clog without a costly plumbing or maintenance call.
  • A sign is provided to increase awareness of the device, which prevents many instances of "bad flushing behavior".
  • Traptex® helps prevent non-flushables from entering pipes, helping your business avoid disaster and change bad flushing behavior!  If Traptex® prevents one call to the plumber, it can pay for itself!

    Traptex toilet snares

Posted by Jonathan Orvig on 9th Oct 2024

My company has installed 8 of these and they work. We make sure we provide the self removal tool with a command hook to hang on the wall. It has helped a lot with repeat calls.

    It really works

Posted by NS on 13th Aug 2024

I have these installed in all our toilets for the building. Their main purpose is to prevent wipes from being flushed down the toilet and clogging pipes as another person already mentioned. It also stops tampons pads and other products from being flushed. I have dealt with a slight uptick in clogged toilets but it has prevented these items from clogging my sewage ejector pumps and burning them up or clogging them which then we would need to call a plumber out for which could cost a couple hundred dollars to unclog or a few thousand to replace a pump.

    Awesome product

Posted by Jim on 27th Apr 2020

Glad to have found this product. Nothing worse than a toilet clog. They sent me the caliper, I filled out the chart, and when they sent me the product, thankfully it fit well. I put the sign up which I think helps prevent people from even trying to flush items. Worth every penny!
